The Nook Zamalek
In the heart of downtown Cairo lay Zamalek, an island in the Nile, known as a home to contemporary artisan culture, Egyptian craftsmanship, and creativity. At its heart, The Nook was born.
Beyond the complexities of Cairo, the Nook space offered a different kind of welcome, familiar yet curious and new. The first thing you discovered was its energy, warm, uplifting, and deeply creative. The scent of fresh flowers, the sound of ambient music, and the inviting tones of the décor all worked together with a shared intention: to make you feel at home. The café, run by locals, grounded in honesty and community spirit, with an ever-changing menu that reflects a diversity and creativity as rich as the exhibitions themselves.
The Nook came into being to bring creatives together through a shared spirit of collaboration, trust, and discovery. The physical space became home to a diverse community of artists, makers, and thinkers, a place where ideas were exchanged, and creativity flourished.
Rooted in openness and driven by curiosity, The Nook continues to foster meaningful dialogue and cultivate an environment where experimentation is encouraged. Over time, we have collaborated with a wide range of artists and designers, bringing new and intriguing concepts to life while offering space for creative expression.
While the physical space no longer exists, its spirit continues to evolve beyond walls. The Nook has grown into a broader platform, one that remains outward-looking and adaptable, continuously redefining what it means to create and collaborate in a connected world. At its core, it continues to celebrate individuality, holding onto the belief that no two hands are the same and that true innovation emerges from this diversity.
The Nook x Apara
The Nook sourced a curated selection of products for APARA’s platform, complementing its small-batch offering. The selection reflected APARA’s considered, contemporary approach to design and its connection to today’s way of living.
The Nook x Erth
The project brought together considered bespoke Nook products to establish a refined retail environment that felt consistent with ERTH Studio’s identity.
The Nook x Beit El Razzaz
The Nook activated the heritage space of Beit El Razzaz through curated installations and spatial styling. Their approach focused on enhancing the historical context with contemporary layers, creating a dialogue between past and present.

The Nook x CFW 2024
For Cairo Food Week 2024, The Nook created a multi-sensory installation centered around Egyptian spices and storytelling. They curated objects, materials, and displays to evoke local rituals and craft a rich, immersive cultural narrative.
“Papyrus Ripples”
The Nook x CFW 2023
At The Grand Egyptian Museum, The Nook developed a concept rooted in papyrus textures and natural materials, translating them into a tactile spatial and tabletop experience. The project emphasized material storytelling through soft styling, artisanal elements, and a warm, organic palette.
